Description
This Horchata Hot Chocolate (aka chocolate caliente de horchata, or champurrado de arroz), also popularly known as Mexican Hot Chocolate, is a rich, warm cacao beverage. It's perfect with tamales, pan dulce, or as a dessert all on its own. You can also use this mix as the base for a delicious chocolate porridge or pudding.
To make, simply cook with the liquid of your choice. Made with brown rice, unrefined coconut sugar, Ceylon cinnamon, and whole vanilla.
Add ½ cup mix to 3 ½ cups water or liquid of your choice. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low. Stir constantly for approx. 5-15 minutes, or until reaching desired
consistency. (To adjust consistency: increase liquid to thin, increase cook time to thicken.)
Store in a cool, dry place.
